The GGS Teaching Assistantship Programme

For international doctoral students it is often difficult to gather teaching experience at JLU Giessen as lectures on Bachelor`s and Master`s level are mainly held in German. Therefore, the GGS is happy to announce the third round of the "GGS-Teaching Assistantship Programme". The aim of the GGS Teaching Assistantship Programme is to offer international doctoral students the chance to gather teaching experience which is a key skill if you intend to pursue an academic career.

Instructor: Baba Iddrisu Musah

In this lecture, which specifically focus on West Africa, Musah is going to argue that since women are generally poorer than men in the sub-region, poverty reduction strategies should target women and address gender inequality in access to and control over resources. There is the need to advocate for a more comprehensive approach to poverty reduction by highlighting vital issues that contribute to the ever-widening poverty gap between men and women, and which invariably retard poverty reduction efforts in West-Africa.
