How Can I Fund My PhD
Doing a PhD requires funding. The expenses that PhD students encounter while working on their dissertation can be covered in different ways. There are various sources of funding and scholarships, including university funds and foundations. There are also multiple possibilities of working while studying, within or outside academia. In this workshop, this variety of funding resources and options available for PhD students will be considered in detail: from the application requirements and the timeframe of the application process or the funding period, to the conditions of the funding or finding a job. The participants will have the chance to explain their own living and studying situation, and discuss specific questions with regards to their individual needs.
Lecturer: Teona Micevska is a PhD candidate at the Centre fort he Study of Culture (GCSC) at the University of Giessen, and works as event manager at Lokal International, a cooperation project between the University of Giessen and the Studentenwerk Giessen. Originally from Macedonia, she moved to Germany in 2013, in order to do her master studies at the University of Freiburg, funded by a DAAD scholarship.
