Ukraine Digital Workshops 2024 Innovative Teaching Methods in Higher Education

As part of a collaboration between the Network for Impactful Digital Teaching Skills (NIDIT) project and the Gießener Zentrum Östliches Europa (GiZo) at JLU, NIDIT Task # 2 (International Training Team) has developed this workshop series to support lecturers at Ukrainian universities in maintaining, implementing, and delivering digital and international teaching. In order to provide an exchange with other international universities, this year we are opening the workshop series to all interested teachers.
The workshop series has two primary goals. First, it promotes the discussion of innovative teaching methods and approaches. Second, it provides an overview of the latest technologies and teaching tools that lecturers can apply in both digital and face-to-face environments. Overall, the workshops aim to enhance participants' teaching skills, preparing them to address challenges across different teaching formats.

Workshop content
Participation in individual modules of the workshop series is possible, allowing flexibility for those with limited availability or specific interests. However, please note that a certificate of completion will only be awarded to participants who attend all modules in the series. This ensures that attendees gain a comprehensive understanding of the topics covered and meet the full learning objectives of the program.

Gamification in Higher Education – A Crash Course

For many students of today's generation, playing games is a daily activity. Gamification thus offers an opportunity to engage students more directly and motivate them to actively participate. Are gamification and serious games new to you, and would you like to approach the topic through practical examples? In this workshop, you will learn about the basic aspects of gamification and discuss its didactic use. You will have the opportunity to try out various practical examples from higher education and discuss their functionality as well as their advantages and disadvantages. Finally, you will create your own small gamification nugget. |
