Cyclophanes – An Enduring, Enthralling and Enlightening Class of Compounds

Abstract:

The seminar will deal with the diverse class of compounds known as cyclophanes, which has remained vibrant for several decades because of what can be learned from them and from making them.  A variety of topics will be covered, including the anatomy of a cyclophane, structural features, conformational behaviour, spectroscopic properties, synthetic strategies/methods, and applications.
