Greenhouse gas fluxes and carbon sequestration

Background

Main gross carbon, nitrogen and water fluxes and underlying processes and drivers may lead to differences in:

  • GHG emissions
  • potential C sequestration
  • water cycling 

 

Objectives

  • Improve understanding on the full GHG and C balances in agroforestry systems (especially in the temperate climate zone)
  • Shedding light on complex interactions of carbon, nitrogen, and water cycles within agroforestry systems to understand processes and drivers of GHG emissions,  patterns and carbon sequestration potential
