Obtaining the Certificate:
Certificate Requirements
If you would like to complete the full Tutor Qualification Programme and earn 1 ECTS credit, or obtain the certificate confirming your qualification as a tutor, you must complete the following elements and compile a Tutor Qualification Portfolio alongside them:
- Introductory Training
- Practical Coaching and one peer or expert observation
- 3 Workshops
- Check-out – Reflection Course
These elements support you in preparing for your role as a tutor and accompany you throughout your teaching practice.
Alongside the programme components, you will create a portfolio [link to materials on the download page]. We understand this portfolio as a reflective instrument that documents your competence development and presents your learning trajectory. In it, you connect the content of the introductory training, the practical coaching, the insights gained from observations, and the workshops with your own subject-specific tutorial. The portfolio is assessed on a pass or fail basis.
Recognition as an Academic Achievement – “Non-Subject Specific Competencies” Module
Participation in all elements of the Tutor Qualification Programme, including the completion of the portfolio, can be credited in all degree programmes in which ECTS credits in non-subject specific competencies can be earned. The Tutor Qualification Module comprises 1 ECTS credit (AfK No. 589 Tutor Qualification).
Participants in the Tutor Qualification Programme may apply for preferential admission to courses in the area of Non-Subject Specific Competencies (“AfK courses”). The conditions are:
1. A meaningful connection between the content of the desired course and the tutor qualification programme, and
2. A brief explanation of how the selected AfK course complements your qualification as a tutor.
If you are interested in preferential admission, please contact us no later than four weeks before the course begins. If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch. Please use the registration form on the Tutor Qualification Programme homepage.
