After your successful enrollment you will receive an official certificate of enrollment, a university account (S identifier) and a student ID (chip card) with your semester ticket for public transport. You will receive this information by post. So please enter your correct address (e.g. in the student residence) and check your mailbox regularly.

JLU Account: "S-Account"

You need your university account to get internet access and your e-mail address as well as to use all digital services (Stud.IP, library, etc.) of the university. You can find more information here. You will be informed by post about how to get your university account and how to create a password for yourself when you have successfully completed your registration. Only then can you register for courses and seminars via the online platform Stud.IP.

JLU ID Card and Semester Ticket

This summer semester, the chip card will exceptionally be sent to you by post after you have been enrolled and have carried out all necessary steps to activate your university account.

However, the chip card can only be activated at the self-service stations in the Student Secretariat (Goethestraße 58) when the building is reopened to the public. Until then, you will receive a temporary ID, which in combination with a photo ID (e.g. identity card or passport) is also valid as a semester ticket for public transport.

Current information on chip card and semester ticket can be found here.
