Fluorinated Azobenzene applied in Molecular Solar Thermal Storage (MOST)

A fluorinated azobenzene is featured as liquid compound for molecular solar thermal (MOST) storage application. Green light can be used to charge the system (picture); multiple triggers can be used to release the heat, such as blue light irradiation, electric current or via acid or reductant addition.
