Artificial intelligence is transforming democratic public spheres, political debates and protests. At the same time, contemporary societies face the challenge of addressing diverse and overlapping crises—including the consequences of climate change, geopolitical conflicts, the decline of democratic public spheres alongside the rise of autocratic regimes, and massive transformations caused by the widespread use of AI.
Against this backdrop, the workshop will focus on the following key questions: How are AI-driven digital infrastructures changing public communication, political protest, and democratic resistance in times of polycrisis? And what opportunities for emancipatory social transformation can be identified?
