Course Description:
The aim of this workshop is to help you communicate clearly and to strengthen your ability to address and resolve conflicts constructively, particularly within an international academic work environment, but also in private interactions. You will be introduced to communication models and explore what it takes to foster a positive communication culture within teams. The workshop will also support you in staying capable of action in challenging situations, in communicating with clarity and purpose, and will show you how to approach difficult conversations.
Main topics of the workshop will be:
• Introduction to key models and concepts of communication • Different communication types within teams • Giving and receiving positive and constructive feedback • Identifying reasons for misunderstandings and strategies for clarification • Theory of conflict and conflict behavior • Addressing critical topics constructively to prevent or resolve conflicts

The Trainer
The workshop is led by Dr. Martina Kolb. Martina holds a PhD in biology and works as a mediator and coach for teams in biotech and science. She helps people to communicate with clarity and empathy, resolve conflicts constructively, and supports teams in building ways of working that are not only effective, but also fun.
