Latinum (Latin proficiency certificate)

The language courses Latin I and II are preparatory courses for the examination to acquire the Latinum. We recommend that all participants of the course Latin II also take part in the state examination for the Latinum. Other than the university-internal certificate, the Latinum is also recognised by other universities. Often, admission to a doctoral degree also requires a state-level Latinum.

The state examination for the Latinum is a supplement to the Abitur exam. Please find further information on registration and process of the state examination for Latinum at the State Education Office.

For the targeted preparation for the Latinum exam, an exam course (compact course Latinum) is usually offered after the summer semester
