Research Grants
The University supports young academics in the form of research grants. These are awarded to young academics with a doctorate who are employed at the university as start-up funding for promising projects.
JUST'US Postdoctoral Program
The Just'us postdoctoral program awards scholarships to outstanding young researchers on the recommendation of a JLU professor. The Just'us program has two funding lines for both internal applicants and postdocs from external institutions.
Postgraduate Scholarship of the JLU
The Justus Liebig University Giessen awards graduate scholarships once a year to national and international outstanding young academics from all disciplines as part of its own university funding program.
Research Sponsorship Fund
The 'Research Sponsorship Fund' is primarily intended to provide start-up funding for large collaborative research projects that have the potential to lead to a third-party funded project within a reasonable period of time.
JLU Early Career Researcher Grant
The Science Support program supports independent and career-effective research projects of young scientists at JLU, which should lead to a scientific publication or a corresponding published research achievement in the field of science communication or open science.
Funding of the FCMH
The Research Campus Mittelhessen (FCMH) offers a selection of instruments to promote cross-university collaborative research between JLU, Philipps-Universität Marburg and Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen.
Further (internal) funding for early career researchers
JLU offers a wide range of internal funding instruments for professorships and early career researchers, which are administered by various organizational units.
