Current Research Information Systems (CRIS) // Digitalization of support processes and process optimization

Decorative image

The Department for Digital Research Information Systems, part of the Research Division, is responsible for implementing the research information system JLU-FIS. The introduction of this system is one of the strategic measures outlined in Justus Liebig University Giessen’s development plan “JLU 2030.”
The JLU Research Information System integrates various types of information on the university’s research activities together with relevant contextual data. In addition, it maps internal research-related application processes within JLU. This means that in the future, researchers will be able to submit applications within the university directly via a web browser using the research information system, and communicate with the responsible administrative units through it.
The Science Support Network will be systematically integrated into these application processes by leveraging the functionalities of the research information system.

Our responsibilities include:

  • Development and rollout of the Research Information System
  • Optimization of application processes within the Research Information System

Office for Equal Opportunities (BfC) // Promotion of Women, Family-Friendliness, Diversity

Decorative image

The Office for Equal Opportunities offers gender consulting for coordinated research programs. Promoting equal opportunities in the academic system and integrating findings from women’s and gender studies have become important quality criteria for evaluating both national and international research proposals, particularly through the establishment of research-oriented equality and diversity standards by the DFG (German Research Foundation). In addition to providing information on university-wide measures to promote equal opportunities that are already established at JLU, the office also supports applicants in developing their own innovative funding instruments. Furthermore, the Office for Equal Opportunities is a member of the nationwide network “Gender Consulting in Research Consortia” and can draw on its extensive expertise and long-standing collaborations.

We are your points of contact for

  • Advising on the development of internal project equality strategies
  • Supporting the drafting of equality chapters for proposal texts
  • Accompanying the application process through networking with equality offices at other universities
  • Participating in review and evaluation phases, for example during poster presentations or survey settings
  • Assisting with the implementation of specific, needs-based instruments and measures for the research consortium
