Career Services Visit to the ECB: Insights into Central Banking and Career Opportunities
 
Join the JLU Career Services for a study visit to the European Central Bank (ECB) in Frankfurt am Main and gain first-hand insights into one of the key institutions of the European Union.
 
The visit will begin with an on-site tour of the ECB Visitor Centre, providing an introduction to the ECB, its role within the Eurosystem and its main responsibilities, including monetary policy, financial stability and banking supervision. The tour is planned to be followed by a presentation on career opportunities at the ECB, with the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about possible entry routes, professional fields and working at an international European institution.
 
The visit is aimed at Bachelor’s and Master’s students from all academic disciplines at Justus Liebig University Giessen. It may be particularly relevant for students of economics and business administration, but also for students from fields such as law, social sciences, political science, humanities, languages and communication, mathematics, statistics, data science, computer science and other disciplines. The ECB offers career opportunities across a broad range of areas, including economics and finance, research and analysis, banking supervision, legal services, data and technology, communication, human resources and administration.
 
No specific prior knowledge of economics, finance or central banking is required.
 
Please note: Participation in the study visit is open to JLU students irrespective of nationality. However, students interested in pursuing a career at the ECB should be aware that eligibility for ECB positions generally requires nationality of an EU Member State or an acceding country.

Travel and meeting point: Participants are responsible for organising their own journey to Frankfurt and can use their semester ticket where applicable. We will meet as a group in front of the ECB entrance before the start of the programme. Further information regarding the exact meeting point, meeting time and organisational details will be sent to registered participants in advance.
 
Please note that the entire programme will be conducted in English.
