On February 7, there will be an open Lecture session, organized by the Giessen Political Theory Colloquium and the Section “Human Rights and Democracy” of the Giessen Graduate Center for Social Science, Business, Economics and Law.

There will be three presentation with the occasion to discuss the current work of Colleagues and Fellows.

The first presentation will be given by Hannes Kaufmann (JLU) on “Violence and/at the Margins of Law”, followed by a presentation on “Cosmopolitanism and the Challenge of Post-Colonialism” by Oliver Eberl. Oliver Eberl is Visiting Professor for Political Theory at JLU for the winter term. The third presentation will be contributed by Mihai Surdu, who is currently fellow at the Collaborative Research Center (SFB) “Dynamics of Security”. Mihai Surdu will speak about “Genetic studies of Roma and the processes of racialization, securitization and instrumentalization”.

 

The lectures are open to everyone interested! Preparatory readings (optional) will be sent after registration with Hannes Kaufmann (Hannes.s.kaufmann@sowi.uni-giessen.de). Online participation is possible as well. The corresponding link will be sent after registration.
