Inorganic chemistry with a focus on materials and energy

AG Lepple is working on the development and investigation of innovative high-performance ceramics for efficient energy conversion and storage.

Central focuses:

  • New ceramics for high-temperature applications that are stable over long periods in aggressive atmospheres
  • New ceramics for energy storage (electrode materials, ion conductors)
  • New ceramics for sustainable energy generation and catalysis

Danilo and Dirk will attend the 2026 Ceramics Conference in Augsburg.

Danilo will give a presentation on “Application of the CALPHAD method for the development of new thermal barrier coatings,” while Dirk will present the results of his master’s thesis as part of the Hans-Walter-Hennicke Competition in a presentation titled “High-entropy perovskites in photocatalysis: perovskite oxides.”

New Paper Published Empirical prediction of the crystal structure of high entropy zirconates based on cationic geometrical parameters
 

Giulia, in collaboration with Limei Chen and Peter J. Klar from the First Institute of Physics at JLU, as well as Jonas, has authored an article on the influence of cation geometric parameters on the crystal structure of multicomponent rare-earth zirconates.

New Paper Published Phase equilibria in the HfO2-YO1.5-TaO2.5 system at 1773 K: the HfO2-YO1.5-YTaO4 side
 

Alina, in collaboration with Olga Fabrichnaya from the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, as well as Anna and Danilo, has published another article on phase equilibria at 1500 °C in the HfO2-YO1.5-TaO2.5 system.

New Paper Published Experimental and thermodynamic assessment of phase equilibria in the ZrO2-YO1.5-DyO1.5 system
 

Danilo, in collaboration with Alina, Anna, and Manuel, has published another article on thermodynamic data and the elucidation of the phase diagram in the ZrO2-YO1.5-DyO1.5 system.
