Professor Wu gave the 1^st Liebig-College seminar and talked about 

Bridging Theory and Experiment in Establishing the Mechanisms of Catalytic Reactions.

Abstract:

The talk will present recent studies of the Wu-group on the mechanisms of several catalytic reactions such as:

(1) Addition reactions to alkynes catalyzed by Trost’s Cp*Ru(NCMe)₃PF₆^- catalyst.

(2) Meta-selective C-H activation in copper-catalyzed arylation of anilide.

(3) Direct distal meta-C-H bond activationin tethered arene containing a remote nitrile.
