Prof. Dr. Jasmin Godemann

Dr. Jasmin Godemann is a Professor of Communication and Engagement in Agricultural, Nutritional and Environmental Sciences at the Justus-Liebig-University of Giessen. Before coming to Justus-Liebig-University in 2015 she held various academic positions at the University of Kassel, at the International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility at Nottingham University Business School (UK) and the institute for Environmental Communication (Leuphana University of Lueneburg, Germany). Her research and teaching interests have led her to different national and international universities such as the University of Basel (Switzerland), Cambridge University (UK), the University of Greifswald (Germany) and Nottingham Trent University (UK). In her research, she is interested in how individuals and organizations deal with the challenge of sustainable development especially regarding food and she investigates how aspects such as responsibility are constructed and communicated. Her research is concerned with discourses of food communication as well as communication practices and processes and their role in individual, social and organizational empowerment.

Prof. Dr. Jasmin Godemann has been an expert for nutrition communication in the working group "Communication Food-based dietary guidelines" of the German Nutrition Society (DGE) since 2020 and in the strategic forum of the Federal Center for Nutrition (BZfE) and the Federal Information Center for Agriculture (BZL) since 2017. Since 2002 she is a member of the Scientific Presidium of the German Nutrition Society (DGE).
