Dr. Juliane Yildiz

Dr. Juliane Yildiz has been a lecturer for special assignments since 2015. Her teaching includes lectures and seminars on empirical social research, qualitative research methods, various forms of communication and counseling (focus on nutrition counseling), and education in the context of sustainable development. From April 2019 to October 2020, she held the substitute professorship for nutrition and household science and its didactics at the Institute for Everyday Culture and Health at the Pädagogische Hochschule in Karlsruhe.

After her studies in nutritional sciences, Dr. Yildiz was initially a research assistant at the Chair of Nutritional Counseling and Consumer Behavior, where she also received her PhD.

Research interest

In her dissertation, she focused on financially induced changes in food purchasing and dietary behavior. In addition to the topics of poverty and social inequality in relation to eating behavior, she is concerned with different forms and changes in eating behavior in general and the possibilities of adapting everyday, nutritional and consumption habits to the guiding principle of sustainable development. This also includes aspects such as communication as well as education and counseling of different population groups.
