Melisa M. Çiçek

Melisa M. Çiçek is a doctoral researcher at the International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC) at Justus-Liebig-University Giessen. In her research project she works on (post)migration and contemporary german literature. Her PhD thesis is called Erzählte Postmigration: 'Gastarbeiter' und ihre Kinder in der deutschen Gegenwartsliteratur and is supervised by Prof. Dr. Annette Simonis.
Melisa is also a research assistant to Prof. Dr. Joanna Rostek at the Departement of English, Justus-Liebig-University Giessen.
She is also one of the representatives of the Graduate Student Committee (GSC) and one of the speakers of the Emerging Topics Research Group Migration and (De)coloniality.

Prior to her PhD, Melisa studied German and English Literature at the Justus-Liebig-University Giessen. At the Otto-Friedrich-University Bamberg, she completed her master's degree in German literature and media studies.
