Course description
Being a PhD researcher or postdoc means much more than producing knowledge. It also means navigating uncertainty, high inner expectations, intellectual intensity, responsibility, and often very little space to pause and reconnect with yourself. This workshop is not about academic careers – it is about you as a human being in the world of science.
Mental health is a fundamental meta-competence of our time. It shapes how we think, relate, stay motivated, deal with pressure, and remain resilient in complex and demanding environments. During this full-day workshop, you are invited to slow down, reflect, and explore what truly supports your mental well-being.
Together, we will look at core psychological needs, personal stress patterns, inner resources, values and needs – always with a clear connection to everyday life in research, teaching, and scientific collaboration.
The workshop is highly interactive and experiential. It combines reflection, peer exchange, and short, practical micro-exercises that you can easily integrate into your daily routine – before a long writing session, after intense discussions, or in moments of overload.
