Abstract

Research data management has become increasingly important for all researchers in recent years, primarily due to the requirements of major funders. However, this course will demonstrate that even without these requirements, good research data management is an extremely useful thing for any researcher.

The course introduces the basics of research data management. These include the following questions:
- What is research data?
- What is good scientific practice?
- What is research data management and why do we need it?
- What does research data management involve?
- What should be considered when storing data?
- How is data published?
- What legal obstacles may arise in relation to research data?
- Who owns research data?

If you have specific questions, please feel free to send them a few weeks in advance to "forschungsdaten@uni-giessen.de" so that they can be addressed in the course if necessary.
