Pilot project 1

The Schunk Group is an international technology group with more than 8,500 employees in 29 countries. The company is a leading supplier of products made from high-tech materials - such as carbon, technical ceramics and sintered metal - as well as machines and systems - from environmental simulation to air-conditioning technology and ultrasonic welding to optical machines. The Schunk Group achieved a turnover of 1.3 billion euros in 2018. A long-term orientation is essential for the Schunk Group. This was already given to it by Ludwig Schunk, who founded today's Schunk Group over a hundred years ago. Accordingly to his wish, the management of the company is to be kept in such a way that the healthy development and the maintenance of independence are in the foreground. The long-term goals of the Schunk Group derived from this: financial stability and independence, profitable growth and global presence. With more than 90 years of experience in powder metallurgy, the Sinter Metals division is a technology and development partner when it comes to the production of sintered metal parts using both axial press technology and metal injection molding technology (MIM - Metal Injection Molding). High-precision sintered parts from Schunk are mainly used in the automotive industry. Here they bring both speed and safety along the streets of the world: no car moves without sintered parts. Components from Schunk can be found particularly in the engine and its peripherals, such as turbochargers, injection systems, pumps, valve controls as well as in brake and safety systems, in seat adjustment mechanisms or in sensors or actuators.

As a family-run company, Isabellenhütte Häusler GmbH & Co. KG is one of the most important manufacturers of electrical resistance materials and thermoelectric materials for temperature measurement as well as passive components for the automotive, electrical and electronics industries. The area of precision measurement technology sets standards in the measurement of current, voltage and temperature in cars and trucks, but also in hybrid and electric vehicles as well as in industrial and regenerative energy generation systems. As an internationally recognized specialist and technology leader, we repeatedly define the state of the art with our innovative products and underline the technology and innovation competence of Isabellenhütte. The decisive criteria for success are the continuous development of new products, technologies and manufacturing processes as well as the comparatively very high vertical range of manufacture. This extends from the production of the alloy to the forming technology, the etching and assembly technology to the complex testing and packaging machines.
