 About the intensive courses

  • Our intensive courses lead within one year in 6 steps from beginner level (A1) through levels A2, B1, B2, C1.1 and C1.2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages to the DSH examination or TestDaF. These language exams serve as proof of language proficiency in order to study at a German university.
  • The courses comprise 20 teaching units (UE) per week and last 6 - 8 weeks.
  • It is possible to start at any level.
  • 6 ECTS can be awarded per course.

The courses are designed for… 

  • applicants for a course of study
  • individual students, exchange students (e.g. Erasmus+)
  • doctoral students
  • visiting researchers and their dependants 
  • employees and their dependants

… of Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU) and the University of Applied Sciences Giessen (Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen – THM).

Individuals not included in those target groups can not participate.

 

Course program and fees

  • The intensive courses run all year long, regardless of the term dates.
  • They take place from Monday to Friday, either in the morning (08:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) or in the afternoon (1:00 p.m. - 4:15p.m.) in our classrooms at Bismarckstraße 16.
