The DAAD Prize amounts to the sum of 1,000 euros and is awarded annually to an international undergraduate, graduate or doctoral student who excels academically and shows outstanding social or intercultural commitment.
Students can be nominated for the DAAD Prize if they:
- do not hold German citizenship and obtained their school-leaving certificate
abroad, - are enrolled as students in a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s or state examination
degree (being at least in their second year of study), or in a doctoral degree, - primarily reside in Germany,
- show good academic performance, and
- show social or intercultural commitment.
Exchange students and freemovers, as well as undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students who hold German citizenship or have already obtained their degree cannot be nominated for the DAAD Prize. Furthermore, the DAAD Prize cannot be awarded for a research project nor for a doctoral thesis. Please send your informal suggestions including an assessment of both the academic performance, social or intercultural commitment as well as the nominee's CV (with contact information) by 15 July 2025 to the Vice President for Studies and Teaching of JLU via international.students. The award ceremony takes place during the Academic Ceremony in November
