The GGN offers courses and other events for the natural science departments at JLU Giessen.
The Giessen Graduate Center for Natural Sciences and Psychology is an interdisciplinary institution addressing the needs of all doctoral students in the fields of mathematics, informatics, physics, geography, biology, chemistry, psychology, and sports sciences at Justus Liebig University.
The GGN serves as the greenhouse for the personal and professional growth of young scientists.
- We offer a wide range of high-quality workshops and training sessions to provide expertise and develop competencies.
- We organize social and networking events where our members can benefit from the experience and exchange with peers and professionals.
- We advocate for an inclusive environment and equitable support.

ViewCareer Talks
With the GGN Career Talks, we want to establish a format that will help you discover the opportunities that lie ahead and what you can do today, to get there in the future. We invite speakers with an academic background in the natural sciences who have advanced inside or outside of academia. We encourage you to take advantage of the diversity of perspectives, even if the speaker is not from the exact same field as you - whether you are currently at a point of decision, want to plan ahead, or are just curious, we invite you to attend.
ViewMeet the Expert
ViewFamily and Career
Currently, family friendliness is highly popular at German universities. But how much of it actually affects families? How, especially, do we satisfy the needs of up-and-coming junior researchers and scientists? In order to find answers to these questions and inspiration for new ways of family friendliness, the Giessen graduate centres, the Career Centre, the Research Campus of Central Hessen and the International Office with the support of the Women’s Representative host a number of events (e.g. a series of lectures or information events with panel discussions).
