NIDIT | Network for Impactful Digital International Teaching Skills
- The project in brief
-
The Network for Impactful Digital International Teaching Skills (NIDIT) was a joint collaborative project of Justus Liebig University Giessen (lead institution), Philipps-Universität Marburg, and Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen. From 2021 to 2025, the project was funded by the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education Teaching (Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre).
The aim of the project was to strengthen digital and international teaching competences at the three participating universities.
The pandemic-related shift of higher education teaching to digital formats demonstrated how demanding high-quality digital teaching is and how substantial the need for development was in many areas. NIDIT took up these experiences and supported lecturers in implementing digital teaching formats in a targeted, didactically sound, and internationally oriented manner. Building on the Higher Education Didactics Network Mittelhessen (HDM), an expanded competence network emerged, bringing together the diverse expertise of the three universities. In this way, NIDIT contributed to safeguarding teaching quality and to embedding digital higher education teaching in the long term.
A concise overview of the project’s objectives, structure, and key outcomes is provided by the NIDIT OnePager, which summarises the collaborative project.
Further results, materials, and transfer offerings from the project context are accessible via the Hochschuldidaktischen Netzwerk Mittelhessen and through the Transferkiosk der Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre.
