Create and edit personal profile

On this page, you will learn how to create and edit the information for your personal profile.

Changing your personal details

Basic information about scientists is linked in the JLU-CRIS. This information relates to the tasks performed in research and academic self-administration. The data can only be viewed by registered users of the JLU-CRIS.

You can find the information stored about yourself by clicking on ‘Persons’ in the menu bar on the left and then clicking on ‘Edit’ under your name. Alternatively, you can also click on ‘Edit’ next to your name on the overview page.

In both cases, a form view with four tabs will open, containing all the information in your personal profile. Here you can voluntarily change/add the following profile information, among other things:

General information

  • We are working on connecting the JLU-CRIS to the identity management system that is currently being introduced. In the medium term, certain information will be automatically imported from the IDM system into the JLU-CRIS and will then no longer be editable in the JLU-CRIS itself.
  • This information includes the following:
    • Name
    • Title
    • JLU Email Address
    • JLU user identification
    • Nationality

You can add to this information, but it may be overwritten at a later date by information in the identity management system.

  • The following information will be maintained in the CRIS in future. We therefore ask you to complete it::
    • ORCiD ID
The ORCID-ID is a number that enables unique identification of academic authors. We recommend that you create an ORCID-ID. You can apply for an ORCID-ID here.
    • Researcher ID
The Researcher ID is the author identification number for the literature database Web of Science.
    • ISNI
The International Standard Name Identifier (ISNI) – developed by the International Organization for Standardization – pinpoints the public identity of creatively active people and organizations. These do not necessarily have to be authors.
    • PubMed Link
    • Link to Google Scholar Profil
    • Picture

Card

The ‘business cards’ in CRIS are used to link individuals to organisational units according to their employment status at JLU, thereby enabling them to be clearly assigned. In future, this information will also be automatically imported into CRIS from JLU's identity management system. In this area, you also have the option of storing contact details such as address, room number, telephone numbers, etc.

Research profile

Here you have the opportunity to supplement your profile in the CRIS by specifying your research interests and your most important publications. This information is used to provide a complete picture of your research activities and CV within the framework of the CRIS functions ‘CV creation’ and ‘automatic filling of personal websites’. For applications to the German Research Foundation (DFG), for example for individual funding, it is necessary to list your ten most important publications. You can therefore enter this information here.

Curriculum Vitae

This section is for you to complete your details. These fields are not mandatory. It is up to you whether you wish to provide this information. The details will be used in the medium term to create CVs in JLU-CRIS.
