This research project examines the historically bourgeois and institutionally rigid structure of the German-speaking municipal theater system from the perspective of a dramaturge with years of experience in Swiss theaters. It not only critiques these institutions but also explores the emancipatory agency of dramaturges and other institutional actors. The goal is to describe and make sustainable use of the institution-transforming potential of diverse dramaturgical practices and strategies.
