Rough Proposals 2026

Rough Proposals 2026 is a festival for the presentation of artistic works by students of the international Master's programs in Choreography and Performance at the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies, Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen, and Comparative Dramaturgy and Performance Research at the Institute for Theatre, Film and Media Studies, Goethe University Frankfurt, in partnership with Tanz: Stadttheater Gießen.

We invite you to join us from the 25th to the 27th of June, at both Theaterlabor (PB3).
Rough Proposals 2026 has been developed within the course and with the guidance of Mila Lanz, the support of Prof. Dr. Bojana Kunst, and is funded by the Hessian Theatre Academy (HTA).

Über Rough Proposals

Rough Proposals ist eine experimentelle Plattform für künstlerische Arbeiten von Studierenden des internationalen Masterstudiengangs Choreographie und Performance am Institut für Angewandte Theaterwissenschaft. In Performances, Installationen, Work-in-Progress-Präsentationen und Interventionen erhalten Besucher:innen Einblicke in aktuelle künstlerische Recherchen, Denk- und Arbeitsweisen.

Die Formate sind vielfältig, spartenübergreifend und thematisieren häufig gesellschaftliche, politische oder ästhetische Fragestellungen. Rough Proposals versteht sich als offener, diskursiver Raum zwischen Forschung, Kunst und kollektiver Praxis. Das Festival findet jährlich statt und wird durch Lehrende des Studiengangs sowie die Hessische Theaterakademie begleitet und unterstützt.
