Rough Proposals 2025 | 3–6 July 2025 | Giessen

Rough Proposals is a platform for artistic works by students of the international Master’s programme in Choreography and Performance at the Institute of Applied Theatre Studies in Giessen. It will take place in Theaterlabor (PB3) and Strahlenzentrum. There is no consensus about what this festival is right now. So we’ve decided to stop calling it a festival. There are no words that can address the current global conflict situation. We are confused, unable to give a frame. We want to share it with you, open the space for the unknown. We would love to see you there.

Über Rough Proposals

Rough Proposals ist eine experimentelle Plattform für künstlerische Arbeiten von Studierenden des internationalen Masterstudiengangs Choreographie und Performance am Institut für Angewandte Theaterwissenschaft. In Performances, Installationen, Work-in-Progress-Präsentationen und Interventionen erhalten Besucher:innen Einblicke in aktuelle künstlerische Recherchen, Denk- und Arbeitsweisen.

Die Formate sind vielfältig, spartenübergreifend und thematisieren häufig gesellschaftliche, politische oder ästhetische Fragestellungen. Rough Proposals versteht sich als offener, diskursiver Raum zwischen Forschung, Kunst und kollektiver Praxis. Das Festival findet jährlich statt und wird durch Lehrende des Studiengangs sowie die Hessische Theaterakademie begleitet und unterstützt.
