Bronislaw Szerszynski
Bronislaw Szerszynski ist emeritierter Professor für Soziologie an der Lancaster University. Seine Forschung zielt darauf ab, soziale Beziehungen und Strukturen in den Kontext menschlicher und planetarer Geschichte zu setzen. Dabei greift er auf Methoden aus Sozial- und Naturwissenschaften, Geisteswissenschaften und der Kunst zurück. Zuletzt hat er gemeinsam mit Nigel Clark das Buch "Planetary Social Thought" (2021) veröffentlicht, zudem ist er Autor von Werken wie "Nature, Technology and the Sacred" (2005) und Mitherausgeber von "Risk, Environment and Modernity" (1996), "Re-Ordering Nature" (2003), "Nature Performed" (2003) und "Technofutures" (2015). Neben wissenschaftlichen Veröffentlichungen umfassen seine Arbeiten auch Performances, kreatives Schreiben, Kunst- und Wissenschaftsausstellungen sowie experimentelle partizipative Workshops. Sein aktuelles Projekt zur 'spekulativen Astrophysik' über die Selbstorganisation in planetaren Ringen ist unter http://ringmind.org zu finden. Als Mitorganisator war er zudem an den öffentlichen Kunst-Wissenschaftsveranstaltungen "Between Nature: Explorations in Ecology and Performance" (Lancaster, 2000), "Experimentality" (Lancaster/Manchester/London, 2009-10) und "Anthropocene Monument" mit Bruno Latour und Olivier Michelon (Toulouse, 2014-2015) beteiligt.
