Jason Waite

Jason Waite ist Kurator, Schriftsteller und Kulturschaffender mit Fokus auf Formen von Praxis, die Agency hervorbringen. Zuletzt hat eran Krisenorten  im Ausgang von Überresten des Kapitalismus gearbeitet, auf der Suche nach Werkzeugen und radikalen Vorstellungen für neue Arten von Zusammenleben und --arbeiten. Er war beteiligt an der Kuratierung von Projekten wie „Don't Follow the Wind", ein laufendes Projekt innerhalb der unbewohnten Sperrzone von Fukushima, „The Real Thing?" im Palais de Tokyo in Paris, „Maintenance Required" in The Kitchen in New York und „Threat of Peace" von Chim↑Pom bei Art in General in New York sowie „White Paper: The Law" von Adelita Husni-Bey am Casco Art Institute in Utrecht. Er hat einen Masterabschluss in Kunst und Politik vom Goldsmiths College in London und war von 2012 bis 2013 Helena Rubinstein Curatorial Fellow am Whitney Museum Independent Study Program in New York. Waite hat kürzlich seinen Doktortitel in zeitgenössischer Kunstgeschichte und -theorie an der University of Oxford, Ruskin School of Art, abgeschlossen. In dieser hater  Künstler:innen untersucht konzentriert, die im Kontext der langen Geschichte der inneren Kolonialisierung in Japan auf die Umwelt- und sozialen Auswirkungen der nuklearen Katastrophe von Fukushima reagieren. Er ist Chefredakteur von „Art Review Oxford" und Mitherausgeber des kürzlich erschienenen Buches „Don't Follow the Wind" (2021), veröffentlicht von Sternberg Press.
