Being a postdoc comes with exciting opportunities but also significant challenges. To be successful in the postdoc phase of your life you need support and understanding of your peers. The GGL PiLS Lunch offers an excellent opportunity to reflect on and discuss individual challenges, improve individual strategies for career progression, and create memorable experiences through engaging conversations with like-minded individuals.

Three primary goals of our postdoc lunch are:

  1. Exchange information and foster collaboration: Share insights and ideas while building new professional relationships.
  2. Get to know each other better: Strengthen the bonds within our postdoc community.
  3. Have fun: Enjoy a relaxing break (and lunch) from your research activities.

Networking and exchange are vital for the success of postdocs. GGL provides an opportunity for interested postdocs to gather regularly for personal development, supported by the Postdoc Coordinators. The meetings are tailored to your needs and interests, with English or German as the working language, depending on group preferences.

Gathering with peers as well as giving feedback is a win-win situation for everyone. Our lunches provide an informal setting to develop essential soft skills like communication and team-building. Sharing experiences fosters support and reminds you that you're not alone in facing challenges. Relaxation is crucial; taking time off can be refreshing and inspiring, boosting productivity and creativity. Ultimately, our meetings aim to foster a sense of belonging within our life sciences community.
