Keynote speakerPierre Mounier, Chief Strategy Officer of OPERAS and Co-Coordinator of the European Diamond Capacity Hub

Title: Who owns our knowledge infrastructure? Scholarly publications at the core of scientific sovereignty
Date: 23 March 2026 | 4:00 pm CET
Participation via Livestream: https://cesnet.zoom.us/j/97444926957?pwd=oh0lbvFwgqG9onTGIRMAG69whC4rWg.1

The keynote addresses the growing importance of scientific sovereignty within the Open Science agenda. While openness has become a central principle in research, it increasingly raises questions about governance and control of the infrastructures that support knowledge production. In his talk, Pierre Mounier will explore how the Diamond Open Access model can contribute to ensuring openness and equity in scholarly communication while keeping ownership and governance of publishing infrastructures within the scientific community.

This lecture on Open Science will take place at the University of West Bohemia marking the kick-off of the EUPeace Fund project “Educating on Open Science and Open Infrastructures”. While the on-site participation is limited to the project team, the EUPeace Open Science and Libraries Group, the livestream of the keynote is open to all students, academics, and interested members of the public.

This lecture is funded by the EUPeace universities.
