The Repression and Return of Nature: Critical Perspectives in Feminist Philosophy
The one-day workshop convenes young philosophers to collectively discuss their current research in the field of feminist philosophy. This provides a platform for an in-depth exploration of various approaches in the contemporary debate, ranging from Queer Theory and the tradition of Black studies to critical theory and issues of feminist epistemology. Building upon diverse perspectives on the concept of nature — incorporating considerations from theories of the body, philosophy of spirit, ecofeminism, and materialism — we aim to delve into the problem of the coercive repression of nature and the sometimes emancipatory, sometimes regressive phenomenon of its return in social contexts. The objective of the workshop is to explore and deepen the claims that feminist philosophy should assert and the methods through which it can articulate these assertions.
