Eduard Bukin is a PhD candidate at the Department of Agricultural Policy and Market Analysis at Justus Liebig University Giessen, Germany. He holds a Master of Science degree in Rural Development from Ghent University. His major research interests include farm structure in transition economies; restructuring and productivity change in agriculture; land and labour factor markets in agriculture. He is a hobby-data-scientists and heavy R-user, who focuses on precise application of the econometric methods and machine learning techniques in the analysis of agricultural economics data. Before joining the team of the Agricultural Policy and Market Analysis department, he worked as an Environmental Data Statistician and Agricultural Economist at the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Bank; and held a role of a research fellow at Leibniz-Institut für Agrarentwicklung in Transformationsökonomien (IAMO).
