Financial support of the GGS working groups and research sections
The working groups and research sections of the GGS can receive annual financial support from the GGS. Following you can find more details about the procedure and the guidelines.
Guidelines for the financial support of the GGS sections (update from October 31, 2025).
The guidelines apply to the following two funding formats:
1. Annual funding of the GGS research sections and working groups
Application deadlines: annually on December 15
In order to enable the research sections and working groups at the GGS to carry out events and smaller projects at the Giessen location, it is possible for them to receive financial support per calendar year.

The next deadline for submission of applications is December 15, 2026. The call is not open yet.
2. Winter term funding of the GGS research sections and working groups
Due to financial cuts resulting from the Higher Education Pact, there will be no funding for the GGS research sections and working groups during the winter term until further notice.
3. Application for the organisation and funding of the GGS Annual Conference 2026
Application deadline: August 31, 2026 (actual tender)
The GGS provides annual funding for an academic conference organised by the research sections or working groups. The GGS offers funding of up to €5,000 to support the organisation of the conference.
