JLU offers a wide range of information to graduates of its Colombian and Polish partner schools regarding study opportunities. Additionally, JLU provides individual counselling on the application process and study admission. Applicants have the opportunity to apply for a 12-month partial scholarship.
JLU maintains partnerships with the following five schools in Colombia and Poland:
- Deutsche Schule Barranquilla (Colombia)
- Deutsche Schule Bogotá – Colegio Andino (Colombia)
- Deutsche Schule Cali (Colombia)
- Deutsche Schule Medellín (Colombia)
- VIII Lyzeum Lodz (Poland)
The project is sponsored for the period of 2023 to 2025 by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with funds provided by the Federal Foreign Office within the programme
„Betreuungsinitiative Deutsche Auslands- und Partnerschulen“ (BIDS).

Information/Counselling
- Information and counselling offers for students at JLU‘s partner schools

JLU offers students and graduates of Colombian and Polish partner schools a comprehensive and profound range of information, counselling and support services before and during their studies:
- Information events at partner schools: JLU provides information about its wide range of study programmes.
- Experience JLU – Information days for school groups: During short visits to JLU, students can attend lectures, visit labs, explore campus areas as well as the city centre.
- Individual counselling for prospective students: Additional to individual and personal counselling for students and their parents, JLU supports partner schools with in-school projects on the topic of „Studying in Germany“.
- Close support of the applicants: JLU supports graduates in the application process and enrolment. Applicants can seek individual consultation concerning the arrival in Giessen and the start of study.
- Assistance at the start of studies and during the studies: The students are introduced to the extra-curricular offers of JLU (university sports, Centre for Competence Development, international meeting centre „Lokal International“, etc.). They can also expect customised intercultural coaching and support from a trained mentoring team.

Graduates of the partner schools who are interested in starting their studies at JLU can apply for a 12-month partial scholarship. This supports the start of studies with 400€ per month. The scholarships are announced each year in April (2023-2025).
