Master of Science (MSc)

Duration of studies

4 semesters - 120 Credit Points (CP)

since 26 August 2013

The Master’s degree programme in Nutritional Sciences follows on from the Bachelor’s degree programme in Nutritional Sciences and Home Economics at JLU. The basic knowledge in the field of nutritional science, home economics and food economics acquired in the Bachelor’s degree programme is expanded.
  • Home Economics deals with the social relevance of private households and family life forms. At that point the focus lies on everyday culture, sustainability and quality of living, the compatibility of family and work in the course of life, but also on questions of consumer policy. The range of tasks included in the study profile also includes the implementation and coordination of personal and household services - beginning with the analysis of social and political framework conditions - appropriate to the target groups.
  • Care Management covers all functions (human resources and product management, funding and investment, management oversight, quality management, etc.) that are needed to manage a care provider business. Attention is also drawn to the interfaces with the market as a whole as well as with the political environment and with other related core areas.
