Excursion for international PhD-Students to Darmstadt

Explore the beautiful city of Darmstadt, which is characterized by its Grand Dukes back in the 17th century, russian influences of the 19th century and the modern architecture and scientific institutions to the present day. Did you know that Darmstadt was the capital city of Hesse until 1944 or that the chemical element no. 110 (Ds) is named after this city?
We will visit the christmas market and get a guided tour through the inner city. Of course we will also have a lunch alltogether and a lot of free time to stroll around.
The fee of 8€ per person (children under age of 8 are free) includes the train ride and lunch. Please register early by coming to the International Office and pay in advance.
Meeting point: Gießen train station at 9.30 am.
