Thesis

Requirement: You have already taken a course from our chair (BP-185, MP-249, MP-251, MP-266) or will be doing so in the semester during which you plan to write your thesis.

Theoretical thesis: If you are interested in writing your Bachelor or Master thesis at the Chair of Nutritional Psychology, please consider the guidelines on applying for Bachelor and Master theses. You will find a template for your application below. Please fill out the template and propose your topic of interest. For the summer term 27, the department will again offer supervision for bachelor's and master's theses. If you are interested in writing your bachelor's or master's thesis in the department, you can apply between December 15, 2026, and January 05, 2027 (updated on August 20, 2026).

Empirical thesis: We are currently not offering any positions for empirical theses. However, this may change again starting in the fall or winter of 2026. Theses would then be possible as part of a weight-neutral intervention study (EASE project). The aim of the study is to investigate the feasibility, acceptance, and effects of a weight-neutral group intervention. As part of your master’s thesis, you will become part of an active research project and gain practical experience throughout the entire research process related to the project. We will announce the application period here. If you are interested, please check back here occasionally for updates, or send us an email at our teaching address (updated on August 20, 2026).

External thesis: If you are interested in an external supervision by the Chair of Nutritional Psychology, please contact Prof. Dr. Gisch by e-mail.
