On-Campus Assistance for Students

Here you can find a summary list of the more important institutions on campus at JLU where you can seek assistance and advice during your studies here.

  • The Student Counseling Center at the Student Advisory Office is there to help you with your questions about your course of study and about academic matters generally. The International Office- General Counseling of International Students- covers much the same ground, but more broadly – choosing your course, legal questions relating to residence, changing your course of study, financial matters, and much more. You are welcome to contact us!
  • The webpages of the academic departments provide you with information about lectures and seminars, members of staff, student contact groups etc. within the individual institutes. There are also study advisors in each department who will be happy to advise you on particular questions relating to your course of study.
  • Student Affairs will help you with matters relating to halls of residence, campus restaurants and cafeterias, social services, and so forth.
  • You will meet other international and German students at the "Lokal International", the international meeting place and cafeteria where you will find a bistro, attractive events, help with the preparation of written academic assignments, etc.

The Student Union (AStA) represents the interests of all students at JLU. Within AStA, the International Students' Agency (ASV) caters specifically to your needs.
