Join us for a practical and informative session designed to help international students understand and navigate academic life at German universities. Whether you’ve just arrived or want to deepen your understanding of how studying in Germany works, this event is tailored for you!

Topics will include:

  • Understanding German University Culture: Learn how the German academic system is structured, what distinguishes Vorlesungen (lectures), Seminare (seminars) and Übungen (tutorials) and what teaching and learning styles you can expect.
  • Creating Your Timetable: Get guidance on how to build your own course schedule.
  • Academic Expectations & Communication: Learn about common expectations regarding participation, academic work, communication with professors and group work in a German university context.
  • Insights From Experienced Students: Hear from international students who have successfully navigated the system and can share helpful tips, practical insights and what they wish they’d known earlier.

A Q&A session will follow, so feel free to bring your questions!
