Colins Mbuayang

Colins Mbuayang is a PhD student with Prof. Dr. Thilo Marauhn. His area of research is Public International law and specifically International Criminal Law. His thesis is focus on the impact of International Criminal Law and the jurisprudence of the International Criminal Court and how it influences the Human Rights situation in Africa; this implies the research will deduce from the jurisprudence of the International Criminal Court, and the ad hoc tribunals, mainly ICTY and ICTR and try to understand to what extent the jurisprudence of the ICC has change the human right situation in Africa; this studies will be corroborated with two situation countries (Darfur; Sudan and Kenya).

Collins Mbuayang is currently an intern at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia and also enrolled as doctoral candidate at the Justus-Liebig Law School in Giessen.

For the internship, he is working with the Trial Chambers III, Seselj Team, and the Trial Chambers II, Tolimir Team. He is being tasked with research on legal issues, cite checking of memorandum and also reviewing transcripts and match evidence with witness testimony, using e-Court to retrieve exhibits, testimonies, transcripts and other legal materials.
