The International Giessen Graduate Centre for the Life Sciences (GGL) invites applicants for

Doctoral Programmes in the Life Sciences

The Doctoral Programmes consist of an experimental project combined with a three-year interdisciplinary graduate course curriculum leading to a dissertation. Each doctoral researcher will be supervised by two professors from different faculties and will benefit from our Doctoral Development Programme. Seminars and courses are conducted in English; German language courses are offered for international students. Depending on the project and the candidate´s qualifications, students may receive a stipend and may be eligible to register for one of the doctoral degrees offered in Life Sciences at the Justus Liebig University Giessen (Ph.D., Dr. med., Dr. med. dent., Dr. biol. hom., Dr. med. vet., Dr. biol. anim., Dr. rer. nat., Dr. agr. or Dr. oec. troph).

Applicants who already have a supervisor and doctoral project may apply via the GGL Application Portal. Before you apply, please read the Instructions for Applicants first.

Applicants may choose from one of our ten interdisciplinary research sections.  Any inquiries concerning the online application procedure may be directed to office@ggl.uni-giessen.de.

Applicants looking for open doctoral projects may consult our current list of open projects. If you would like to apply for an open project, please do not use the GGL Portal. Instead please use the links provided in each project description to apply via the JLU staff department. You can find more open positions at Justus Liebig University here. A Master's degree or equivalent is required for all doctoral positions.
