Academic Writing in the Life Sciences

This workshop outlines the writing process and typical structure of papers in the life sciences as well as the scientific conventions and research culture of the field.

Students will learn:

• Fundamental aspects of writing in the life sciences:
  Writing with the IMRAD structure
• Specific guidelines for writing each chapter:
  Adopting strategies for different writing needs
• Get started and generate text
  Select your own results and integrate them in the scientific disussion.

Lecturer:

Dr. Iris Krimmel is familiar with all aspects of academic writing. After working for many years as a political scientist, she started to work as a writing coach in 2029 and supports young scholars and scientists in every stage of the academic writing process.
