- Musical Creativities in the age of AI and posthuman criticism International Conference July 11/12, 2025 JLU Phil II, Building D, Auditorium
11.07.2025 bis 12.07.2025 (Europe/Berlin / UTC200)
JLU Phil II, Building D, Auditorium
The conference explores phenomena, discourses, and practices of musical creativity. On the one hand, current developments in AI technology and on the other hand, a growing post-humanist critique of the subject call for a re-evaluation of the concept of creativity. Up to now, this has often been understood in anthropocentric terms (as a criterion of the human) and individualistically (in relation to an isolated, strong subject). The aim of the conference is to test alternative perspectives that understand creativity more as a decentralised, networked, material, dynamic and performative phenomenon. Through an explorative concept with presentations, round tables, and lecture performances, the conference aims to provide impulses for critical, interdisciplinary research on the topics of AI, music, and creativity.
