Prof. Andrzej Wirth

Andrzej Wirth (1927-2019), was the founder of the Institute of Applied Theatre Studies at Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen (1982 – 1992).

From 1966 on he taught at the universities of Stanford, Harvard, Yale, Oxford and London, at the City University of New York and the Free University Berlin.

As theatre critic he wrote about Bertolt Brecht, Jerzy Grotowski and Robert Wilson. Also, he led numerous theatre projects with students from America, Europe and Australia.
