Freigeist-Fellowships of Volkswagen Foundation: funding for one's own position (as a junior research group manager)
- Hans-Böckler-Stiftung: Maria-Weber-Grant: Applicants can acquire funds for a substitute in their job position for up to 12 months who takes on parts of the teaching duties, so as to free space and enable the applicant to focus on their own research. The blanket sum for a (partial) substitute amounts to € 20,000 per semester.
- The Daimler and Benz Foundation Scholarship Programme Supporting Postdoctoral Students and Assistant Professors: The scholarship programme is aimed at early career researchers who have completed their PhDs and are currently in the early phase of their postdoc careers. Researchers from any discipline may apply for the programme. The only requirement is that the applicant has a research application and formal ties to a German research institute.
